Recaps

Great Christmas this year---
Not so great cold.
New obsession with Zuma's Revenge.
Not so new desire to nap alot.
Full fascination with auto-tune the news.
Full recovery from said fascination, in fact, go away, autotune.

Pretty great time off with friends.
2009 is ending better than I thought it could.

Lastly,
Shocker: Taylor Swift blended with Coldplay equals listenability.
(didn't see that coming..)

The twist of fate..

...I feel grateful.....and.. I feel loved..

Christmas miracles are really real.

I know that now..

First Week Recap..

So, let's see--

Pretty decent week, aside from the typical lack of sleep, and the minimal time to do much--but that's mostly because of the sleep thing. Class seems pretty easy to grasp, no big to dos there, and of course, I probably have a much better outlook over the whole thing because it's Saturday and I've actually slept more than 4 hours.(Score!).

The living environment has been a blessing--I don't stress as much, I work normal hours, and I don't have to deal with shady types. I don't have to numb out every night watching random 80's movies on stagevu(Though I'm sure I could if I wanted to.) Really, I feel less cloudy these days. Almost purposeful.

More to come~

First day impressions.

Pretty decent first day at the new gig--

Amusing despite the yawning I did.

Segues are a beautiful thing in a busy class.

Feeling like a "real" adult today despite the hints of 'first day of school' vibes (Which was cute and funny..), but it feels good to really get out there and do something instead of stagnating like I have been.
It's like I'm trying a new face of sorts, still me, but slightly more responsible..

Probably too soon to say that--but definitely feels like a step in the right direction..

OK--
More to come-

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Sorry for the delay but..

I got the Convergys gig!

I'm out of the damn hostel!

I left San holding the bag! (Okay, that's mean, but.. oh look, I don't care!)

Everything is turning into a figurative fondue pot of goodness, and I can scarcely relay how happy/relieved/filled with hope I am.

A big thanks to my loving friends-- I wouldn't be thriving without you.
Please understand how much I appreciate it.

And as for me... it's about time that things turned around.

:)

Weekend

Pretty great weekend.. I do very much the lighthearted brevity of hanging out with good friends, enjoying good food, and kicking butt on Diablo 2.

Plus, there seems to be some hope for the near future on the horizon--and that makes me feel a little better about things.

Just applied to 3 jobs at Discover--fingers crossed for that one.
And currently applying to US Census 2010 call center job--temp but a good start..

Friday, November 27, 2009

I don't need a title.

Turkey day was weak and uninspired.
Food was decent, but other than that...

I missed being around a table with the right people--
reminiscing about old times and sharing their company.

I guess I missed the tradition part of it this year.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Mid week thought.

I frequently feel like my life is consumed with work and sleep---what I do with the little time I have to myself is almost irrelevant(...means the world to me, but it's dwarfed by the other two extremes.).

Wish that weren't so.

Sunday, November 22, 2009

Weekend blah blah noise.

Saturday's end....currently late night...

And I haven't done a damn thing all weekend.

A part of me is like "You sloth. What the hell."

and the other is very "Yeahhhhh.. That's awesome."

Current thought?

Mmmm..I don't want to go back to work so soon..

That's right. I go with "other side".

Eff you, logical brain.

Hope you peeps had a good weekend too~

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

A thought..

It's always amazing to me just how sleeping for ten+ hours really makes the world a little easier to handle...

Friday, November 13, 2009

My usual grumpy morning rant--
..just on Friday the 13th.. oooh. scary.

Mornings suck.

I just wanted to put that out there, and make it very clear..
(..like I haven't already..)

In other news,
I think I'm done with Nanowrimo again.
Novel writing is for other people.
I'd much rather stay true to what I am
--a pretty decent short story writer.
Why try to overtask myself with something
I'm not happy doing...

I'm tired--think I'll sleep for a year after this shift.

Weekend Confection: #3

Hello, my children. It has been sometime since your Uncle Sexy blogged his confectionary weekend offering, and so with a sincere countenance and a contented heart, I humbly present unto you this week's nominee:

Eddie and the Cruisers!

It's a tale of mystery, of intrigue, times of musical change, of youth, of friendships made and lost forever in the summery tale of a band, its leader, and the moments they shared in the summer of 63--on the shores of Jersey. (It was pretty once, for reals.)

Eddie (played to the hilt and lip synched amazingly by Michael Pare) is the lone rocker with a vision; to be "remembered for the music or not at all." He and his musical partner, Sal, head up The Cruisers, a Jersey band with a sound ahead of its time.(Soundtrack is pretty damn great..Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band's sole contribution to good music, the rest of their catalogue doesn't thrill me to be honest..but this was their gem.) But it wasn't just about the music.. it was the story that makes this movie stand out--On the quest to find his perfect sound, Eddie and the band embark on a year's journey creating an album 20 years ahead of its time. It was said to be fashioned after a deceased poet's final work(Arthur Rimbaud) at 19---"A Season in Hell". The story is told by Frank Ridgeway, one of the original Cruisers, and the lyrical voice behind all of Eddie's best numbers.

The album is missing. The conspiracy begins. Who has the lost tapes? Is Eddie still alive? Why does Sal look like such a schmuck when he puts together a band and calls them "The Cruisers" to make a buck? Is there a real "Season in Hell" album I could buy?

All good questions. Watch the movie. It'll suck you in..

Your Uncle S wouldn't steer you wrong.

Before long, you'll be a Cruiser too, trust me.

Morning Grumpy Rant and other..

I hate mornings, and I tend to be a grouch.

I just don't understand the point of having to be awake at this hour.. It's not just a matter of me connecting with my youth and rebeling just for the sake of doing so... I literally hate mornings. They suck.

In other news, ELO- Eldorado is making another cycle into the front of my music fav of the month..It's funny too, it's just a handful of songs on the album that stick in my mind, the rest is just very " Eh, who cares."...but these songs..they're beautiful...and near timeless to me.

Haven't quite given up on Nanowrimo, but got lazy yesterday and called it an off day..so it's up to Present Me to pick up the slack.. We'll see how well that goes.

Sigh. 6 more hours til time off. Needing it.

A Thought..

It's a shame I can't use this blog as my nano entry. It's gotta be at least 50,000 words right?

Nah.. Fun thought though.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Writing Woes..

I'm remembering why it is that I don't do long form stories or novels-- I can do the lead ins, the lead up tos, and the with limited success, a proper ending for short stories, because they don't take forever on those first two parts.. With novels, you have carefully craft your plot, putting minute touches here and there, and making sure all the bits and pieces function together when you reach page 175 or 200 (and that's just being modest).. Too hard, man.

I'm currently struggling with the nanowrimo thing I'm doing... It was fairly simple to establish the plot early on in the intro, and then I got to chapter 1, and did the whole "oh, I'm a moody high school english teacher, I need to break out and do something important before I get too old to care" stuff, and that was smooth going too, I guess. But now I have to face the transitional period where something integral happens to the main character that incites him to action--

Hard to put it all together for the span of 50,000 words.. Strange though, it's really about the numbers for me. If I were to just do this thing for something reasonable like 5-10,000 words, I could get my mind on where things needed to be because of the nature of the story.

Shorts are just easier and less tasking.

Eh, that's why they call it a challenge though, right?

Nanowrimo and other.

Was beating myself up about what I should do with Nanowrimo coming up in a few days--- I really had nothing, just images as usual...but then I remembered a story idea I had about 5 years back about two friends who really loved movies..the plots, the characters, the damsel in distress, and the battling hero and villian... The tale of these two guys who break apart from some reason and go down a different paths, but meet up in the middle with unfinished business.

I can see it working, and I hope it does..

A decent morning so far.

A little bit of a sour stomach, but I'll probably be able to work through that with any luck.

Prayers and good thoughts to Richard today--he's going through some stuff today, and I hope everything turns out okay.

Eddie Afterthoughts and Weekend Stuff

Cruisers turned out to be good reading...got through it in less than 2 days.. Characters were vibrant, saw definite pieces of myself in "Wordman" Ridgeway(Moreso in the movie than the book, but still.) Ending was little to be desired--much prefer the idea that Eddie was still alive, and the tapes were floating around out there. Owes more to the mystery and intrigue.

As for the Not Quite Human Series-- Mostly campy. Some of it works(and makes me chuckle), and some of it is outdated and cornballish. Was it fun? Definitely. Is Alan Thicke my choice for best tv dad? Always. Was Robin Lively crush-worthy? You bet.

Speaking of which, it's Winona Ryder's 38th today.. She's still pretty, that one. It's the eyes really.

Wanting the weekend to show up...I hate how the clock takes it time when I need to speed up. That's pretty inconsiderate. Will most likely be seeing This Is It... not taking any expectations in with me despite the good reviews..

Hope it's a decent day where you peeps are.

Why Must My Wheels Turn At Night...
..and other news.

Can't sleep. The working long shifts and drinking too much coffee doesn't help matters, but then I get to thinking...stupid things really...things I could be wondering about during shift--like trying to stream my dvds across the network so that every computer in the place could have access during the day---or doing the same but in analog for music in the building..considering the amount of wiring it would take or if I could just patch into the pre-existing telephone wires to a main board and several strategically placed speakers...

Yeah. Stupid crap like that.

In other news, a good weekend this past one.. hung out with my bestie Who and good friend Suki-- actually watched about ten mins of Back To The Beach, played a little mario kart (always a blast), and had a good laugh at their cute cats.. That Tony kid likes to mark territory. Note to self: Cats shed when they get all up in your face.

Dollar movies Pottering was fun, but the main pride and joy of the evening was Richard's take on Zupa Toscana.. What fiendishly good soup that is. Was going to make a Weekend Confection blog about it, but the time past...and so, you'll just have to take my memory of it as genuine--it was that good.

I'm praying that I don't have a crash today, and yet, I have no desire to continue with the coffee, though I'm going to have to.. I really am my own worst enemy sometimes.

It's all your fault, Brain. I blame you entirely.

Friday, October 23, 2009

Updates and schtuff.

I really have to find a way to control my temper around this job--
Woke up with sore knuckles from the wall hitting from yesterday.
It's hard to keep it together when surrounded by such stupid people,
but it's not really fair to Future Me when Past Me gets upset and
cannot find another way to express it.

Ahhhh.. Really wish people could stop acting like jackasses
and be a little more conscious of the environment they create.

Anyway.. I'm feeling alot better since then.

Rejoined Nanowrimo--not sure how I feel about that just yet.
It seems 2001 really was the most productive year for me in
terms of writing...and Nano had a hand in that.

I'm probably off, but it seems that I become much more in tune with
the writer in myself during age milestones...like 19 and 21 were my most effective writing years...maybe I just need to shake that image of myself and try to embrace 27...

We'll see.

It would be really great to recapture some of that creative explosion and harness it to finish the project--just need to find out what that project will be this year.

Hope morning is panning out for you peeps...

I'm still trying to kick out the jams on coffee.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Pretty weird dream..

So...I'm back home, it's Easter, and all my relatives are at my parents house in PA.
I'm getting Easter cards filled with money from these people, and I'm on an Easter Egg hunt with my brother. We're both our current age while doing this. I mention to him that I'm saving this loot to come home and find a job, and if that doesn't pan out, I'm going back to UT... He tells me he just got out of jail and needs the money to pay his rent. He tries to tell me what it was like in jail, and I tell him that we both did time together once...whatever that means.

WTH...

I guess that's what happens when random stuff I'm thinking about blends with crazy nonsense and blends together.

Recap.

...A good weekend.. a quiet weekend..

I couldn't be more grateful for it.

Weekend Confection #2

Hello, dear friends.

Submitted for your approval, I present unto you this weekend's confection:

*Wide tacky closeup of 'scary' ass zombies*

Sugar Hill!

This madcap blaxsploitation romp can be loosely described as a zombie film.
In fact, if wanted to know real horror, just watch the smiling black dude who happens to be their leader..

Shot in 1974, you can already sense that this might be "lost" gem (Lost is probably appropriate), but the special effects are so wonderfully bad that you can find yourself swept up in the bs. (Hardly any makeup on the zombies--oh sorry, metal ball bearings from tires are put in their eyes. I'm usually a wuss when it comes to scary and I just kinda sneered at them when they came on screen. Ooooh.. You have metallic eyes! Stop! Help! Police... )

Oh, and now for a word about costumes.

Stolen!

Most likely from Sister Soul or some band that thought being futuristic was the in thing-- Seriously, the costumes that the head wackjob wears make very little sense...and the frequency in which she changed her costumes/hairstyles would give you whiplash.

Speaking of things that make no sense-- The whole movie is about this cool dude with a fro (Langston) who, in my humble opinion, had the best wardrobe in this crazy thing--sparkling 3 piece suit (When I saw that, I knew this film would be magical.). He gets kicked alot and subsequently murdered by some whities(Yeah, there's like two nice white people in this whole thing, the rest are assholes. It's a blaxploitation thing, I suppose.), and never seen again.

Okay. It's a zombie movie, right? Why wasn't he resurrected and sent after them nasty white dudes and had their shit jacked?

F that noise. I'm white and even I feel disappointed by that fact.

Lastly, there was an old chick in this jive turkey of a film, but she's nothing to bark about. In fact, she kinda freaked me out. She called scary smiley black dude (who's cane incidentally looked like Richard Pryor in the Wiz.. Check out the last Confection for details.), and just hung out not doing much. Not really what I'd call integral to the plot.

Overally, 3 stars. 1 for plot and 1970's cheesiness and 2 for allowing for snarky commentary.

Good times, kiddies.

Will next week follow suit and be another blaxploitation film??
Find out!

A little excerpt from a certain Sing Along Blog..

"So…

Go ahead – run away

Say it was Horrible

Spread the word –

tell a friend

Tell them the tale

Get a pic – do a blog

Heroes are over with

Look at him – not a word

Hammer, meet nail..."

Mind keeps time while
Anderson's "Oh Superman" ticks on..

"You can come as you are..but you'll pay as you go.."

That's making so much sense to me right now.

Am currently in a double blind.
I keep seeing these airy visions of home,
but sidestepped by current situation of dual hopelessness.
And while going back would help mentally,
it would ruin the physical stasis I've maintained.
I'd miss the familiarity/comfort of my true friends
and the security of one's own 'home'..
I'd fully lose all the goodness that mattered
in this dark situation.

I sometimes hate me when I have to do battle with myself.

And so, I've shut it off for now.
Hoping my brainwave patterns soon resume a normal flow
before I can hope to continue weighing the bullshit
(pros/cons, cause/effect).

Why is that when I'm gone for too long...the rain must fall.

Too many whys in my life.

Bday Acknowledgement and Other..

A very happy 34th birthday to Kate Winslet. You are lovely.

In other news...

Some french dude here at work is yapping away on the phone...

It feels like 'Muzzy' in here.. Remember those horrid commercials from the mid to late 90's about a bear that teaches us french?

Yeah. It's alot like that.

Resurgence.

Heroes has made a comeback for me--

I forgot how much I enjoyed Season 1... when the concept was fresh and new; just finding out about how things work, and everyone's purpose to the plot..

Good stuff.

Oh yeah, that reminds me...Hiro really is the best character, though at first viewing, I thought Mohinder Suresh had the most potential---the one seeking to finish his father's work, and make sense of the theory. Cool idea.

But ultimately, it goes to Hiro and Ando..if he has to be around.

Words of J and the lack thereof.

Yes, I realize it's been a few since I've posted, but honestly, if you've seen my last post, you'd know that there really isn't much more for me to say-- It was just that awesome.

No. I kid. I joke. Or do I...

Nothing much to report- Fairly boring and yet tedious (shocker!) week so far. As it happens, I'm most likely to find my mundanity to be simple that--hum drum and less than stellar.

Yes, I actually wrote hum drum. You don't have to go to your Grammy's house and ask her what that means, because quite simply, it refers to all that is dreadfully boring.

Thanks for your attention.

This Weekend's Confection

Even if I'm the only one that truly sees this as a magical cavalcade of well..magic, I humbly submit this weekend's confection:

The Wiz~

This inspired masterpiece is a true showmanship of talent and jawdropping excitement. Now, granted Diana Ross is completely wrong for the character (And let's face it, she looks like a dude in really bad drag..That dress is appalling, and frankly, I was scared of the veins in her neck..but more on that later..)...but the overall characterizations are spot on, and the music of the disco age truly shines through in several of the musical numbers..

I've enlightened my friends this weekend, and though they did not fully give it the praise and true admiration that it deserves, their lives will be forever touched by the wonder of this beautiful memory.

And my children, please, do yourselves a favor:

Invest time in Nipsey Russell. He's one of last few honest to goodness hard working professionals wearing tin and singing the blues. He deserves our respect.

Last but not least...

Score big and be a lion like your Uncle Sexy.

Blurb Factor 10.

Started a new story ("Reversal") on StoryMash--

Not sure if I like it.. really just feels like a one off, but I felt like writing, so I guess that's progress at least.

That new Star Trek movie surprisingly wasn't crap and didn't try to just use elements of the original series and suckify(yeah I just used that) it into a brand new franchise. It felt like an updated telling while still paying homage to what went before. Was very pleased.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

I've blogged about this but...

I'm back on watching Jekyll miniseries.. quite possibly the most interesting/stirring adaption of the story thus far--strangely enough, it's BBC.(Yes, yes, I know, sometimes they put out winners..but for me they're hit or miss.. This one is a serious hit.)

Birthday Wishes and Other-

It's Bill Murray's Bday today--he's 59..

He's kinda been on the outs in terms of doing decent comedies lately, but he's still Bill, and has provided enough laughs in the past giving him full rights to suck now. How many people can you say that about and mean it as a compliment? Very few, dear friends. Very few.

Hope it's a good birthday.

Also, as I've posted in other places around, Emmys were a good laugh last night.

As per usual, NPH didn't fail to impress.

That'll do for now-- a good day to one and all~

Movie Day

Just saw Cold Souls...Giamatti was as briliant as ever, the film was deliciously strange in all the right places--a few "wtf" moments thrown in there, and had the usual sundance vibe to it.

Indies for me are generally hit or miss, but this one was worth seeing.

Haven't quite figured out the ending..

Stuff you might already know..

It feels so good being off...not having to hear phones, not answering to anyone..

It's a good day.

Recent movies.

I'm still trying to determine as to whether or not I'm a true Martin&Lewis fan.

Was really into it when I first got the Vol. 1 dvd set from the library...

Chomped through the first 2 movies, the third one ran a little slow and this fourth one.. I dunno.. I'm starting to lose interest. I mean, they're good for a few, but really, it's just very "I could watch this, but why should I?"

I'll probably give it a few days and see what happens.

Stupid Humans Rant # 42

Biomat=
The most inconsistent, inefficient, lying group of asshats
known to man.

It's a good thing I still have some sort of a moral compass
or else I'd torch them.

Seriously, I'm glad you're doing what you can to increase the quality of life for us all, but really, someone who is ready and able to assist in this keeps getting shat on because you feel like being petty and late with your "messages"-- Get real, ya morons.

Humans are stupid.

Identity Crisis # 107...
..or Current sources of annoyance.

The dreams lately are messing with my head... just these bizarre ones that keep you up at night and you can't quite figure out..

..and I keep wondering if I should go home..would it be permanent? I can't find a job out there, and I can't find a decent one out here..

Where the hell do I belong?

Worse yet, I keep saying the wrong things to the wrong people, and making them mad/upset at me.
If you're reading this, I'm sorry.

The trouble with leaving a place you're familiar with is leaving the people you care about most-- That's been a constant for the last 3 years.. and it won't change, no matter where I go.

I really wish I could just stop effing up, and figure out my place in the world already. It's getting old.

The one thing I do know is that I should visit Jersey soon-- and can probably make that happen.

Really wish I had a good line of funds and just travel the states..figure out where I belong.. That would really help alot.

But..

The idea that I might have to bum around for a bit terrifies me. I've never been without a home, and the idea that I'll be out in the cold trying to understand myself is creepy. Would much prefer knowing that I'd have a job when I arrive wherever I do.

I love my friends here. I love my parents/relatives back there.

I keep missing them both so much when I leave.

Finding one's place in the world is just so damn hard.

And having a headache doesn't help either.

A little good news city..

Plasma's back!

Granted, I can't go today, but I'm allowed to again...went to the office, gave my silly reply card, and I'm good to go tomorrow.

It's about damn time. Seriously.

That is all.

"InstaSuck"-- A Good Thing.

I love shows that suck you right in at the first ep and keeps the momentum of that--

How I Met Your Mother is definitely one of them.

Sorta been missing it, so I'm gonna marathon the 4 seasons that are out in a week or so.

We'll see how that goes..

Usually if I get a fix of a certain show, I'm good for while.. so chances are I'll probably watch a few eps, then take a break from it..

Dream.

Weird dream last night... dreamt I had an mp3 video player that allowed me to see "episodes" of my past... Like a tv show of my life on this little screen.

Was so..real.

My brother was around in most of them.

Strange who sticks out in memories of one's past.

At Sun's End

I wish summer would just finally go away--

We've been stabbing it for the last few weeks, and yet somehow it still manages to keep showing its face...

It's gotta be kinda like Madmartigan trying to kill Kael, had to use two different swords to do it, and still Kael kept trying to engage him in fisticuffs. (Yeah, I just watched Willow last night...sorry..still fresh in my brain.)

Go away, Sun, you have no friend here.

A little griping before coffee.

I very much dislike how it feels like I'm just fulfilling an obligation when it comes to working mornings-- Of course, if I had any say in it, I wouldn't be apart of the morning. That's probably why I do not like it.

Logical, this morning. What a treat.

...now don't spread this around but..

..the Candyman can cause he mixes it with love...

..and makes the world....taste good.

Weekend Recap:
The magic of 80's child rearing tapes...
and good times with pals.

I never realized how comfy carpet sleeping can be until this weekend.. Good times with Lynds and Richie, and wow, what a strange childhood it must have been to have to listen to cassettes of random people telling you to be nice to your parents and obey everything.. Seriously. My creepy childhood brainwashing was no picnic either.. but consider this: Psalty was a crazy bible book, but he only wanted me to sing songs and occasionally play music on his onboard piano...oh, and get into adventures with his scary ass "mice" friends.

Get this though... there's an actual world of Obey, wherein you should do everything adults tell you and be sure to eat what the Doctor orders...and if you don't, you'll have to be pals with this grumpy old dude who makes crappy lemonade. I kid you not.

Ummm.. those tapes are too damn funny-- I wish to hear the whole set sometime.

And, on an unrelated(?) note, I want Batman Season 1 (60's) series released. It probably won't happen, looked it up.. alot of legal crap between several studios will tie this up for a while.

Balls.

Lastly, Richard makes a mean 2am quesadilla.. and that fabulous a la king is appropriately title a la dios.

And Joshua is not allowed to corrupt the GT Express 101(yes, yes, it is cool.) with his crazy ranch dressing experiments..

It's been a good weekend.

Low Calorie Mid Level Post

Was going to start off this entry with "I know, I know, I have to post Balderdash"..but really, I'm in no hurry with that. I won't sit here and berate myself because I haven't had time to post it yet..

Seriously. :)

It'll get done when it's good and ready to do so..

And so, I'll start with my alternate opening:

The trouble with being on shift and getting some sleep is simply that; getting some sleep on shift.. You're lucky if you average more than 3 plus hours of sleep during a night shift-- which is all well and good because sleep is a necessity to keep you going....but I think I'd rather forgo the sleep entirely instead of getting just 3 hours. 3 hours is such a tease.

It'll be alright though. I could keep going with this "blah blah blah it's gonna be great morning, it'll be busy and fast and go by quick."..but honestly? I just want to go back to bed.

Friday, August 7, 2009

Something to consider..

Really must make time to hit the library soon.. it's been at least two weeks since I've had anything new in terms of books, tvshowsondvd, etc..

And how you ask would I know this?

It's also the length of time it's been since I've shaved my face..

Disturbing/Fascinating that I can set my life to my beard growth.

Yeah. I need to get out more.

Also, I haven't forgotten about broadcasting the lost Balderdash, folks. Just been taking some downtime from writing lately.. It should be up either sometime today or this weekend. Will do my best.. Love to you and all like you. Have a great day(Weather in the late 70's this weekend..Yay!).

A Brighter Morning...

Yup. Totally called it.. Things can turn around easily.

Called plasma place, just need a letter from the GM stating that I work here.. So that's done.

And I just realized that I only have to work til 10:30 tonight..will be off til 3pm the next day...so there's time to sleep in that.

Everything isn't always as bad as it seems...or can at least be managed.

Grumpy Rant

Frustrating weekend.

Plasma is threatening to cut me off---finally found out that I live at Avenues, and that they don't accept people from there(understandable, there's alot of gross bastards from here..)...then I mentioned that I work there, and they were like "Yeah, we're gonna need proof of that." Losers.

Also, am considering asking boss for some sort of wage compensation-- been working here long enough, and worse yet, my hours have dramatically increased.. I really feel like slave. Also, it's making getting a real job that much harder to do-- have no time to go on interviews, etc. So, yeah, I think I'm entitled.

The plasma thing just has me in a worry knot. I need it to keep going.

And yeah, my birthday is coming up. I just wish I could be happier about it.. or at the very least, just let it pass without having to think about it.. I hate how much time I waste.

If you need me, I'll be working for the next 24 hours. F this job.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

A few new thoughts...

I really hate not having time for anything-- for myself, for friends, for just sleeping properly. This damn job is ruining the whole thing, and worse yet, I've had to start kicking people out due to an unfavorable article in the local news (who the hell cares about local downtown Salt Lake news anyway...stupid stuff neighbors and crappy 2nd journalists, that's who.)...and worse yet, I had to write a retraction to this-- of which I agree with the negative reporting...How droll.

Need a worse yet? This will probably get published, and I shall receive no credit for it. To think that most of this will be my words(not that I agree with what I wrote).. Nothing is sacred.

I hate having to be the bad guy in this, and I hate when I sign up for something, and the hours completely change because of one person's error.

This is the pits.

And I don't like summer at all-- Yes, yes, I'm a hypocrite, I bitched and moaned about the winter. Good, fine, laugh, I deserve it...but I really prefer winter... It's cold, it's unpleasant, but it's better than having to sweat.

Aren't I the whiny one today? Well, I've been sitting on this for a few days.. and I hear it's good to vent these things.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Writing Considerations.

I've been writing fiction lately-- it's been coming to me effortlessly, and for that I am grateful.

It's not the most important of topics, of course, but still, the idea that a flow like this can nearly generate itself entices me to consider the idea that I can be the person I once was-- a proper writer.

Mind you, I'm writing about Mother Goose. But perhaps it's the certain madness that makes it so easy to get to the next chapter. My own personal amusement and the amusement of a few others is what driving me to continue. Maybe that's what I need to inject into each idea.

Also, there's this freedom in knowing that I don't necessarily have to boggle myself down with finishing this...just write while it's fresh, and continue when it feels right.

I like that.

In an unrelated thought:

I've recently finished Belvedere. It was magic. Baby-steps to September's 3rd Season release..

Monday, July 13, 2009

Mehness.

Haven't been in the mood to say anything new.. big shock? Not really.

Okay week. Friends got their new house(go you!), and I didn't do much.

Belvedere is bringing back some good memories, and is standing on its own quite well. Hewett still cracks me up every time.

I also have Criminal Minds Season 2, but waiting on it---wanting to get a brief respite from all that seriousness with a little 80's frivolity first.. I don't laugh much during CM..but it's still a great show.

That's about it for now.

Maybe a better post sometime soon~

For the sake of the Update.

And now.. the top one annoyance of the week:

Being woken up and/or interrupted by incompetent morning people.

Thank you.

In other news, it's weird to consider that I may soon have a half sister.

Also, Criminal Minds is great. I highly recommend it. Will I watch the show after Mandy Patinkin leaves? Highly doubt it.

Furthermore, it seems unlikely that the world won't get over MJ soon enough. Everywhere you look, it's a circus of people with their opinions.. Get a life, people.

And for those tributing him, cool for you...Informative shows about a talented dude are a-okay with me, just don't keep it going past its time just to boost your ratings.

Eh. I'm off today. It could be a good day- Who knows yet.

Friday, June 26, 2009

A tribute of sorts.

See you around, MJ. I'll be sure to blame it on the boogie in your absence~

A quick self shrink session.

It's really just one of those days where I'm feeling stagnant...like I could be doing something with my life, I'm just waiting for the reason to do so. I never liked the way this feels. 27 years is just around the corner and I'm being so lax over it. Some days it seems like it's my birthday every day of the week and I'm constantly reminded of the time I've wasted. I think I just need about 10 grand to get my own place, a real computer, and just write. Or finally go back to college...cause it seems that everyday I don't do what I need to do with my life is just another day I'm growing dimmer...older...and jaded.

I think the real beef I'm having lately is in my head. The desire to write is always with me, but I can't do it. It's like I block myself from doing it..the idea that I'll have a great idea but ruin the whole thing by not finishing it. That's the problem with having a track record-- it never wipes itself clean no matter how many times you try to disprove it. It's a blemish on everything you do.

Maybe I'm just having an overly moody day..or maybe I'm thinking too much, but it almost feels as though everywhere I go to get myself established doesn't really matter... Sure, I have great friends here, and a pseudo job and place to live, but am I doing anything to better myself or my life? No. Just being the same old useless me in some mundane patch, being the worker ant and praying for a change.

It's good having a best friend though.. It is. I typically find myself wanting to open up to people, and still find it hard to really get down into the core of me and find the truth. Besties tend to see that, whether you try to get at it yourself or not. I'm not good at that.

I've been having the worst issues with internet conversation lately. It's strange. I can sit here and type to my heart's content in any topic, in many different subtangents, but when it comes to typing a few lines to another living breathing person, it becomes a challenge to be truly understood. Is it so hard to translate the conversation of the 3 dimensional world to this little plastic hard candied version? It shouldn't be. I'm a writer, it's in me to express myself thoroughly and openly, right? Am i truly that insecure about being judged/misunderstood that when words don't come out right, I get frustrated?

That's just stupid.. I hate that so much. Why bother speaking the english language if you just get it wrong depending on the medium you use it in. I won't be that fool any longer. I'm a competent intelligent individual and refuse to be limited by the things I can or cannot say. I must be true to me...and I must be heard. Without conversation, without some minimal form of communication, why does one need to exist? It's the riddle of the universe---how can I understand myself almost perfectly and yet the rest of the denizens of the planet cannot follow the things only I know so well....

I know that I won't always be understood by all. I'm almost alright with that, but the ones I value most not hearing my 'voice', that unnerves me. I think the most unpleasant part of this equation is that I find typing to be so relaxing. It's almost easier to type than to handwrite.. Sure, the handwriting is much more personal, but then...there's a conflicting element to that... The things I type are so much more immediate to me--no thinking..just straight to the fingers to let them create the parallels I'm envisioning. I can't understand why that concept cannot be applied to any conversation I have online.. Is it because the conversation involves another party...that party being completely unpredictable and different from myself? That's probably the smart answer.

I don't know. I try not to be consciously rude. And strangely enough, I 'listen' to past conversations in my head for traces of cynicism.. That's been cropping up recently. I've seen that alot. It's to do with my feelings of inadequacy lately as mentioned earlier. Not having a proper fitting job, not being able to do the things I need to do financially, being creatively stifled.. It just jumps on your shoulders for as long as you can carry it. I never respond well to coming to several conclusions all at once.. They should be allowed to come to me one at time, instead of Pandora boxed, leaping to and fro, waiting to see if I can process them all at the same time.

I can't. I suck at it actually. Change is still a frightening perspective to me--no matter where I've traveled to or whom I've met. That doesn't explain why I'm horrible at making plans though. Spontaneity is all about sudden change. Plans usually get a framework that isn't much deviated...Eh. Probably the same reason why I like ketchup, but don't care for tomatoes.

I don't know exactly why I wrote all of this.. Sometimes I just require a moment to self evaluate and understand why I do things.. It's part of the processing bit that I was talking about...Understanding myself helps me to cope with the 'shoulder hitchhikers'...and see them all in an outside perspective rather than being the one who gets it all at once. A stand back standpoint.

Anyway. I really don't enjoy using cliches, but "one day at a time" seems appropriate lately. We'll see how that goes.

Last Post Addendum

Heyyy! If all goes well, I'll be getting the first season of Criminal Minds sometime next week.

What does this mean? New series to Marathon and a decent dose of Mandy Patinkin! (In case you were wondering, he's wicked cool)...

This could well turn out to be awesome.

*Fingers Crossed*

Also, if anyone besides Whoville and Suki Wa reads this blog, send good thoughts and prayers their way.. They're getting jerked around too much over this buying a house business.. Enough is enough.

Thanks and Thumbs up in your Personal Direction for it..

My media sections are amazingly outdated..

Don't worry. I'm fully aware of this, and am completely ashamed of myself.
Been watching Seinfeld like a beast in a cage, and finally finished Season 4 this evening. Weird Season. I worry that I finally might be burning myself out of the Sein for a while, so hopefully tomorrow the library will provide with another healthy diversion....Been considering Big Bang Theory on the suggestion of some close friends.. but highly doubt my library will allow for it. As it happens, I can't go back to Blossom just yet (After a week or so of singing its praises, it will tend to get...gasp..stale.)... Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

That's the trouble with getting shows on dvd-- you can marathon them real quick and lose the very reason for getting them in the first place. Does this mean I'll stop this ritual in favor of patience and time honored reflection? Hell no. I'm gonna be me, just have to find more eps or different shows to compensate for the speed.

And that is all for now. Haven't been up to too much, pretty busy with office stuff lately, and as always, anxiously awaiting my Saturday off.

Apologies for the recent grumpiness, I just haven't been in the writing mindframe. Don't fret, as my track record tends to show, this element of my personality is flighty at best, and usually doesn't last too long.

Ps. I need a good book. Soon.

The lack.

I don't feel like writing much lately, and as nothing has been going on, it's not too big a deal.

However, typing with a cut thumb is most unpleasant..Finding this out the hard way.

Will update later..if I feel like it.

50 Recent Thoughts..in no particular order

1. I don't think I'd ever want anyone to come around and “box my ears”

2. Water is especially nice sometimes.

3. I like Martha's accent in The Secret Garden..

4. I haven't figured out why I like the color red so much...darker especially."

5. Multitasking is such fun; it's mental exercise.

6. I sometimes wish I could get paid for doing these things.

7. I wouldn't mind being 21 again, but with a 40 year old mind.

8. Finger-Food is just about the best there is. Everyone I know are all about the 3 course meals, and the seminal family gatherings...Me? A few people around or myself just enjoying simple things and having a few moments to enjoy the quiet.

9. I still have a lingering thing for hats—though I hardly ever wear any.

10. I'm not at all sure I'd be doing this list right now if I had internet—so for that I suppose it's a blessing in disguise. Haven't been writing as much as I'd like.

11. Always had a passion for lists.

12. I don't much like the company of birds or dogs—but if pressed, I'd be more inclined to prefer dogs...especially older ones.

13. Been considering the application of using electrical energy residing in humans to operate machinery..not like The Matrix where we all become collectors..but little things... If we all have this sporadic energy not being used, why can't it power my morning shave...or make bicycle riding less of a chore..

14. And if that doesn't work, harvesting lemons.. Was pretty sure that they produce electrical current too...

15. Another is corn flakes. Corn is being processed for fuel, yes? Why can't Frosted Flakes be used for something just as efficient? I'm sure we can think up some adverts for Tony The Tiger..

16. Been wondering if humans can really communicate with animals..nothing as fancy as Doctor Dolittle, mind, but some small innate understanding carrying over from Eden. We're all supposedly comprised of the small stuff, why should communication be so different than biological composition? Yes, yes, two unrelated features..but it would be cool knowing what the leopard was thinking prior to chasing the steer...Was it all just predatory or does he multitask too? 'Really should stop by the stream and have a quick drink before running..” Simple things.

17. And while still on that subject, it would be nice to project the former thought to plants. Some of these varieties can live for so many years and yet we have virtually no clue as to what they might be “talking” about. Imagine how many conversations we've missed over several millennium.

18. Still think it would be cool if dreams could somehow be recorded.

19. Is water really absorbed through the skin? And if that is the case, why bother having to drink it orally? Especially if one lived in a rainforest or somewhere that it rained very frequently.

20. Do flies or mosquitoes have any friends? Every time they come around, they have to come with human vicinity or land on them.. It makes me wonder if they have friends of their own.. They are always coming around and being irritating...as if they have no other purpose in life...Just nominated to be the attention whores of their species.

21. Do you suppose there are schools in Heaven? If so, it would be that much more enticing. I mean, no blaspheme intended, but if all you really do is socialize and worship deities forever, it might get a bit routine. If you can learn all there is to learn until the end of time, it might be far more fascinating than just sitting on heaven's porch with Uncle Larry and saying hallelujah every ten mins.. Again, no blaspheme intended.

22. Another one: God is, I'm sure, a busy entity...Would he/she/it find time to talk to all of the people inhabiting the home created for them..or would there just be a large gathering where all could be addressed at the same time.....Personally a little one to one time would be great. A lifetime of questions are just waiting to be asked. Hard to dictate these things to a messenger and wait a few days for the answers. Being omnipotent and omnipresent makes one assume that he/she/it could easily make time for these things.

23. Would it really be possible to digitize your existence after you die? I mean, all the knowledge, feelings, emotions, experiences one can have...could it be placed into a computer? You wouldn't necessary be 'conscious' for it, but could live on?

24. “Greensleeves was all my joy...” What are greensleeves? Are they what they suggest? Just sleeves that are green? Or is there more to it.

25. Been wondering how it is that subtitles actually enhance what I'm watching instead of distract from the action on the screen. I sort of watch both at the same time. Shouldn't that be exhausting?

26. What is the correct pronunciation of the “herbs”?

27. Back to theology for a sec: I've been wondering if once you've been cleared to enjoy heaven and so forth, will the bible characters and/or God talk in old translated English..or will they speak in the modern languages? And better still.. Do these people speak primarily in Hebrew? Communication could be severly limited if all we could do is look, point, and gesture at each other... Perhaps there's translators or language teachers up there. Hard to fathom with that many people around.

28. With so many new advances in technology and in communication especially, why are people still called away on business? Is talking through a computer still that impersonal? Or have we not fully progressed to holographic telecommunications yet? Projecting a three dimensional image of yourself into a chosen space without really being there. It would be very cool.

29. We've discovered many different universes/galaxies/supernovas, etc.. Are there galaxies existing in space that we cannot discover because they are so very small...

30. I rather like snarky folks—most of the time.

31. What is it about soothing sounds that are so appealing...why do they in fact soothe us.. I personally enjoy a crackling fire or horse footsteps on cobblestones... But why.

32. Why do clowns have to be so frightening.. and is it the laughter, the silliness, the makeup that makes them this way-- They just seem unnatural and wicked.

33. Not sure why I find waterfalls so appealing. They're just like any other water source, except that they flow in a certain direction...

34. Some actors just portray anger so much better than their contemporaries.

35. Why do children cry and flail arms when they're having a fit... Isn't it enough to be pissed and not be able to full express yourself than to worsen it by making loud noises and perform unnecessary movements? You're just exhausting yourself and sharing your noise pollution with others.

36. I'm sure children don't consider that---hell, I still don't when I'm throwing a fit..but what if we did during..Interesting stuff that would be.

37. Perception can be so annoying sometimes—especially when it can change after the fact. Instant understanding would be such a luxury.

38. Another pleasing sound: Ice rattling in a glass. Not sure where that one comes from.

39. Sweating is supposed to cool one down, right? It doesn't relax me or cool me down. It just makes me feel unpleasant and ready for a bath.

40. Another consideration on that: After having a sweat, why does the “overheated” feeling linger? Like it feels like one's skin is burning...What's even stranger than that is during a good cold shower, the steam seems to rise out of the skin. Sweat is counterproductive, it seems.

41. Not to be rude, but I don't think wheelchairs should just be for the handicapped. They seem like they could be really amusing—particularly jazzy chairs.

42. What makes jokes funny? What determines one's sense of humor. Is it environment? Upbringing? Appreciation of a certain brand of humor? Is this sort of thing embedded in our genes? For instance, if our parents think something is amusing 20 years before we're born, is there a fair chance that when we finally get around to it, we might find the same thing funny too? I don't think that can be predetermined.

43. These are some of the things I'd probably ask God—if he/she/it didn't mind it.. And it makes me wonder if the comment he/she/it would make before answering would be “Yeah, I get that one alot..”

44. I wonder where last names came from. Some from town or location of origin, yes, but there are so many in the world and most are diverse enough to not be repeated alot...Did we after a while just start making them up? Humans tend to make up things to amuse themselves, sometimes just stories like mythology or the history of the universe...but did it happen with last names too?

45. Okay. Most of the people in the bible originate from mostly middle-eastern type areas.that's fine...but what I don't understand is...how did the languages of the world originate from one established area... Tower of Babel is the explanation...the languages of the world started there.. I guess I've just been riddling over the “Oh, I speak Ukranian, and I speak Chinese...I speak Hebrew..I speak English” so forth and it all came from this one area...Difficult one.

46. And while still on that, before the Tower of Babel, there weren't all these diverse languages supposedly... Does that mean that we all spoke one universal language? And if so, what was it?

47. I suppose I've been thinking a lot about theological items lately. But... energy has also been on my mind....For instance....energy waves in the atmosphere...and frequencies picked up by electronic items...These things should make it easy to believe in just about anything.

48. How does a cell phone lock onto these invisible waves to transmit and receive sounds from a person miles and miles away. Tricky stuff.

49. I've been wondering how it is that we've all become so smart over the last 200 years or so..so that we've been able to manifest such advanced things like computers, or laundry machines or any of that... Time shouldn't be measured by achievements...but by the dreams of regular people. Technological Age shouldn't be so specifically named—It really should be about some dudes who thought interesting things and made them happen. Why should technology be constricted by what was happening in the year you thought up the idea... For instance, why were we able to harness electricity in light bulbs or make screens for watching prerecorded events in the 19th-20th centuries? Why couldn't these things have been possible in the hundred years before this? Maybe it just took the right people to create the right items for these possibilities. I don't think it had anything to do with the year they were born in, just the people involved who were thinking further out of the box then others were at the time. How will it be in this 21st Century world? Will things be invented that couldn't have been achieved in the last Century...or will it be that the right people will exist in this time and show us the dreams they wish to become real...

50. Free thinking tends to unravel similar patterns of other thoughts. Proof? See the 49 thoughts above.
