Even if I'm the only one that truly sees this as a magical cavalcade of well..magic, I humbly submit this weekend's confection:
The Wiz~
This inspired masterpiece is a true showmanship of talent and jawdropping excitement. Now, granted Diana Ross is completely wrong for the character (And let's face it, she looks like a dude in really bad drag..That dress is appalling, and frankly, I was scared of the veins in her neck..but more on that later..)...but the overall characterizations are spot on, and the music of the disco age truly shines through in several of the musical numbers..
I've enlightened my friends this weekend, and though they did not fully give it the praise and true admiration that it deserves, their lives will be forever touched by the wonder of this beautiful memory.
And my children, please, do yourselves a favor:
Invest time in Nipsey Russell. He's one of last few honest to goodness hard working professionals wearing tin and singing the blues. He deserves our respect.
Last but not least...
Score big and be a lion like your Uncle Sexy.
Rawr~

Blurb Factor 10.
Started a new story ("Reversal") on StoryMash--
Not sure if I like it.. really just feels like a one off, but I felt like writing, so I guess that's progress at least.
That new Star Trek movie surprisingly wasn't crap and didn't try to just use elements of the original series and suckify(yeah I just used that) it into a brand new franchise. It felt like an updated telling while still paying homage to what went before. Was very pleased.

I've blogged about this but...
I'm back on watching Jekyll miniseries.. quite possibly the most interesting/stirring adaption of the story thus far--strangely enough, it's BBC.(Yes, yes, I know, sometimes they put out winners..but for me they're hit or miss.. This one is a serious hit.)

Birthday Wishes and Other-
It's Bill Murray's Bday today--he's 59..
He's kinda been on the outs in terms of doing decent comedies lately, but he's still Bill, and has provided enough laughs in the past giving him full rights to suck now. How many people can you say that about and mean it as a compliment? Very few, dear friends. Very few.
Hope it's a good birthday.
Also, as I've posted in other places around, Emmys were a good laugh last night.
As per usual, NPH didn't fail to impress.
That'll do for now-- a good day to one and all~

Movie Day
Just saw Cold Souls...Giamatti was as briliant as ever, the film was deliciously strange in all the right places--a few "wtf" moments thrown in there, and had the usual sundance vibe to it.
Indies for me are generally hit or miss, but this one was worth seeing.
Haven't quite figured out the ending..

Haven't quite figured out the ending..
Stuff you might already know..
It feels so good being off...not having to hear phones, not answering to anyone..
It's a good day.
It's a good day.

Recent movies.
I'm still trying to determine as to whether or not I'm a true Martin&Lewis fan.
Was really into it when I first got the Vol. 1 dvd set from the library...
Chomped through the first 2 movies, the third one ran a little slow and this fourth one.. I dunno.. I'm starting to lose interest. I mean, they're good for a few, but really, it's just very "I could watch this, but why should I?"
I'll probably give it a few days and see what happens.

Stupid Humans Rant # 42
Biomat=
The most inconsistent, inefficient, lying group of asshats
known to man.
It's a good thing I still have some sort of a moral compass
or else I'd torch them.
Seriously, I'm glad you're doing what you can to increase the quality of life for us all, but really, someone who is ready and able to assist in this keeps getting shat on because you feel like being petty and late with your "messages"-- Get real, ya morons.
Humans are stupid.

Identity Crisis # 107...
..or Current sources of annoyance.
The dreams lately are messing with my head... just these bizarre ones that keep you up at night and you can't quite figure out..
..and I keep wondering if I should go home..would it be permanent? I can't find a job out there, and I can't find a decent one out here..
Where the hell do I belong?
Worse yet, I keep saying the wrong things to the wrong people, and making them mad/upset at me.
If you're reading this, I'm sorry.
The trouble with leaving a place you're familiar with is leaving the people you care about most-- That's been a constant for the last 3 years.. and it won't change, no matter where I go.
I really wish I could just stop effing up, and figure out my place in the world already. It's getting old.
The one thing I do know is that I should visit Jersey soon-- and can probably make that happen.
Really wish I had a good line of funds and just travel the states..figure out where I belong.. That would really help alot.
But..
The idea that I might have to bum around for a bit terrifies me. I've never been without a home, and the idea that I'll be out in the cold trying to understand myself is creepy. Would much prefer knowing that I'd have a job when I arrive wherever I do.
I love my friends here. I love my parents/relatives back there.
I keep missing them both so much when I leave.
Finding one's place in the world is just so damn hard.
And having a headache doesn't help either.

A little good news city..
Plasma's back!
Granted, I can't go today, but I'm allowed to again...went to the office, gave my silly reply card, and I'm good to go tomorrow.
It's about damn time. Seriously.
