Just finished miniseries of Jekyll-- 2007 retelling of the R.L. Stevenson 'Classic'...It was...pretty damn brilliant, and that's about the best I can muster.. Aside from the occasionally lackluster British dialogue and the usual crappy portrayal of an American in a Brit series (a token black dude in a seat of power this time no less-- all smiles and badly written lines, no surprise there), the show was ridiculously fun..and the plot twists have an "oooh, I wanna keep watching" factor.
James Nesbitt As Hyde
His Tom Jackman aka Jekyll is completely passable at the very least, but... His Hyde.. Now there's a character .. Complex, Dark humored, Menacing,Childlike Brattiness- Easily the best portrayal of the man to date.
At Least: Six 55 minute episodes of curious nature...twists and turns/flashbacks, etc. A fun time waster.
At Most: Hyde is fascinating to watch, the backstories unfold intriguingly, the British "Gosh, you suck" attitude is apparent in some characters...Syme was definitely one of them.(This is amusing, you'll see.)
Enjoy~
